There are several questions you need to ask yourself before starting a business. These questions will help you decide if you have what it takes to succeed online.

1. Do you have the qualities of a leader?
If you want to succeed though, you need to be able to lead. This includes being able to make decisions.

2. Can you see the big picture?
True leadership is the ability to see the big picture and see what's actually happening in your business. This will influence the decisions you make and whether or not you make the right ones that grow your business.

3. Do you have a plan?
You'll need to ask yourself what types of products or services you will sell, how you will market them.

4. Are you focused?
Focus ties in with your plan. Your plan doesn't have to be written in stone. Make it flexible. If what you are doing isn't working, then try something else. Just don't jump on the bandwagon every time a new opportunity comes along.

5. Are you willing to learn?
Learning is a necessary part of business, and it contributes to your overall growth as a person. Even if you only have a few minutes a day, commit to learning something new that will help you in business.
Learning is a lifelong process. If you want to succeed, you will need to constantly learn new things.

6. Are you willing to take risks?
Risk is a necessary part of business. You will have to make decisions you are responsible for. Personal responsibility is part of running a business whether you accept it or not.

7. Can you take criticism?
Negative people are inevitable in business and in life. Some of it may be valid and will help you improve your products. It's valuable business intelligence.

If it's just meant to hurt or mislead, then ignore it. For whatever reason, those who are negative don't want you to succeed. Ignore it. Negativity comes from a person's own personal unhappiness, and misery does love company.
Starting a business is never easy, but there is a simple process for success. Apply this process, and your success is assured.
